Stop the Bleed® Community Training

Severe bleeding can turn fatal in minutes. Learn direct pressure, wound packing, and tourniquet use in one free, hands-on two-hour session.
About Event

Uncontrolled bleeding can take a life in under five minutes. Help usually takes longer than that to arrive.

That gap is the whole reason Stop the Bleed exists, and it is why the person standing closest matters more than any piece of equipment. This free two-hour community session teaches the three techniques that save lives in those first minutes.

What you will practice

  • Applying firm, effective direct pressure
  • Packing a wound with gauze or improvised material
  • Placing and tightening a tourniquet correctly
  • Recognizing life-threatening bleeding and calling for help

You will work on training limbs until the steps feel automatic. No experience is needed and nothing is graded — the only goal is that you would act.

Open to residents, school and campus staff, faith and community groups, small businesses, and neighborhood organizations. Registration is required and all materials are provided at no cost.
